Speaker Information
MODERATOR: Michael DiTolla, DDS;

A 1988 graduate of University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, Dr. DiTolla was awarded his Fellowship in the AGD in 1995. Mike was in private practice for 15 years before becoming Director of Clinical Education for Glidewell Labs for the next 15 years, giving him an intimate knowledge of American dentists and their crown and bridge habits. In 2011 he received the "Most Effective Dentist Educator" award in a nationwide survey of dentists. In 2014 and 2015 he lectured on behalf of CR, presenting their iconic "Dentistry Update" lectures, the longest running CE program in dentistry. In 2015 he became Director of Clinical Affairs for Sirona and in 2018 he became the VP of Clinical Affairs and Communication for AEGIS Dental Network.


Jihyon Kim, DDS;


Known affectionately as the “Discing Queen” for her exquisite hand-skills, Jihyon Kim, DDS, prides herself in the development of her unique discing protocol for shaping esthetic injection overmolded tooth forms using contouring and polishing discs, which she employs artfully in the treatment of her patients and teaches meticulously during hands-on advanced adhesion and direct composite courses at the Institute of Injection Overmolding in Seattle, Washington. She also lectures throughout the country on anterior micro-esthetics and biomimetic restorative dentistry. Dr. Kim is passionate about lifelong learning and believes the key to mastering her craft is all in the details. She achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Biologic Sciences at The University of Chicago and DDS at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. A devoted member of SPEAR and Oral Health Sciences Study Clubs, Dr. Kim continues to push the boundaries of dentistry in order to provide high quality patient-centered care using the most modern materials and methods available. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Kim maintains patient practices in Seattle, Bellevue, and Fife, Washington, with an emphasis on aesthetic smile rejuvenation via injection molded direct composite dentistry. Her career highlights include teaching more than 20 courses per year throughout the US and Canada and developing curricula as full faculty and Co-Director of the Bioclear Learning Center in Tacoma, Washington. An innovator at heart, Dr. Kim created the Smile Design Gauge, a multifunction clinical tool for predictable chairside smile design.


Nathaniel Lawson, DMD, PhD;


Nathaniel Lawson, DMD, PhD, is the director of the Division of Biomaterials at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in Birmingham, Alabama.


Clint Stevens, DDS;


Clint Stevens, DDS, is a native of Dallas, Texas. After graduating valedictorian from Jenks High School, he majored in German at the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Stevens attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio, and completed a one year post-doctoral Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Michigan. He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, the International College of Oral Implantologists, and is a member of the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Stevens is engaged in ongoing laboratory and clinical research dealing with adhesive restorative materials, digital dentistry workflows, endodontics and dental implants. He serves as a key opinion leader and consultant for product development and evaluation to several dental manufacturers. Dr. Stevens’ strong academic background and experience in the application of modern technologies and materials in a private practice setting make him an excellent educational resource for his fellow practitioners. He has lectured at dental meetings and to dental study clubs across the United States and has published several articles in the dental literature.


Taiseer Sulaiman, DDS, PhD;


Taiseer Sulaiman, DDS, PhD, is the director of the Advanced Operative Dentistry and Biomaterials Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he gained his clinical certificate in Operative Dentistry. He completed his PhD in Dental Materials from the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry and Biomaterial Sciences from the University of Turku in Finland in collaboration with the Department of Operative Dentistry, University of North Carolina. Dr. Sulaiman is a clinician and a researcher hoping to bridge gaps between dental research and clinical application. Dr. Sulaiman’s research focus is on dental ceramics, adhesion, cements, color, and appearance in dentistry and biomimetics. He is a member of numerous academies, including the IADR/AADR, Academy of Operative Dentistry, the Society of Color and Appearance in Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. He has lectured on numerous national and international stages and serves as a reviewer for many peer-reviewed dental journals.
